Pit bulls that mauled greyhound to death euthanized | People

Three pit bulls that attacked a killed a greyhound, and injured another greyhound and their owner in Greece, have been euthanized.

The Town of Greece Animal Control Officer says the dogs were put down Monday afternoon around 4:30.

The dogs attacked Nancy Kliss and her two dogs, Dasher and Vixen, on May 31st. Dasher did not survive his injuries. Kliss suffered injuries to her hand, before a neighbor intervened.

According to Animal Control, the owner of the 3 pit bulls was ticketed 3 times for each dog, meaning 9 tickets total. The tickets were issued for having a dog loose and off a leash, attacking and injuring another animal, and attacking and injuring a person.

Greece Police are also investigating another attack over this past weekend, where a pit bull attacked and killed a chihuahua.
