J-Mac on the "Today" show | News
Title (Max 100 Charaters)
When Greece Athena takes on Spencerport Tuesday night in boys basketball, there's no way many in the crowd thinking about five years ago when those teams met. A night that changed Jason McElwain's life forever.
He was the Greece Athena team manager, but that night the coach put the autistic teen in to play the last four minutes and he ripped off six three pointers, plus another bucket. After that incredible performance, J-Mac ended up meeting President Bush, winning an ESPY for Best Moment in Sports and he's continued as a coach for Athena.
On the "Today" show with Matt Lauer Tuesday morning, Josh McElwain talked about autism no longer limiting his brother and J-Mac reminisced.
Beside coaching at Athena and for several club teams, Jason still works at Wegmans and Red Fedele's Brook House ion Greece. His goal though is to coach in a college program. He says he's good friends with the coach at Cornell.
