Walmart opens in Northgate Plaza | News

A new Walmart opened on Dewey Avenue in the Northgate Plaza in Greece Wednesday.

The store saw a lot of shoppers on its first day. Cub scouts and boy scouts took part in a flag raising ceremony.

The town of Greece granted approval in 2007 for Walmart to be built. The project was held up for four years by a group of residents who opposed it.

Construction on the new store and a complete rehab of the old plaza began a year ago. New businesses have moved in and all available store fronts have now been taken.
