COMIDA approves tax breaks for Mall at Greece Ridge developer | News
Title (Max 100 Charaters)
The County of Monroe Industrial Development Agency (COMIDA) has approved tax breaks for a new project at The Mall at Greece Ridge.
A public hearing was held this morning at Greece Town Hall.
Wilmorite was approved for $3.6-million in tax incentives. The plans are to demolish the Bon-Ton store this spring and put in up to six new restaurants and shops.
It's an $11-million project that will bring about 140 new jobs to Greece along with 150 construction jobs.
News10NBC asked the developer why the project deserves tax breaks. Wilmorite VP of Finance Kevin Wimot said, “Greece Ridge Center is a large part of the Greece community and without these incentives, we'd have a very difficult time financing this project.”
Wilmorite plans to break ground in April or May with the stores opening next year.
No word yet on what stores will be coming in. Wilmot says they're still in lease negotiations.
