Local church volunteers in New Orleans to help rebuild | Community Spirit

Volunteers from two local churches plan to be up bright and early Monday morning to fix up part of New Orleans.

Fifteen people from the Webster and Greece Baptist Churches are in the Ninth Ward this morning. They left the Rochester airport Sunday.

They are planning to help out with groups down there to rebuild, paint and clean homes that were destroyed by Hurricane Katrina more than six years ago.

Group leaders say they were so impressed by the people that came forward to be part in this trip.

The group will spend the week in New Orleans and come back to Rochester Sunday.
