Bartolomeo and Perotto Funeral Home continues Christmas Stockings for Soldiers Program | Community Service
Bartolomeo & Perotto Funeral Home is once again looking to give back and send a little taste of home to our soldiers overseas. For the third year in a row, the firm is participating in the annual Veterans & Family Memorial Care (VFMC) “Christmas Stockings for Soldiers” initiative.
Last year, the program achieved its goal and brought in more than 900 stockings that were then sent by Bartolomeo & Perotto to troops overseas. This year, the funeral home is hoping to send 1,000 stocks to local servicemen and women who can't be home for the holidays.
From now through December 1, all interested Rochester residents can stop by Bartolomeo & Perotto on Vintage Lane in Greece to pick-up a free Christmas stocking. Participants will receive a list of recommended items to stuff the stocking with, and are encouraged to decorate and fill it with Christmas cheer for our troops overseas. Stockings need to be dropped off by December 1 in order to be shipped by Bartolomeo & Perotto to troops abroad in time for Christmas.
As part of the firm’s membership in VFMC, Bartolomeo & Perotto is also an official drop off center for Cell Phones for Soldiers. People are encouraged to bring in old cell phones to help our troops call home this holiday season. VFMC Providers nationwide have collected enough old cell phones to provide the troops overseas with over one million free calling minutes.
