YMCA unveils $200,000 benefit house

A local family was presented with the keys to their new home this morning and the money raised from its sale will help benefit the YMCA. Matco Builders and Developers sponsored the fundraiser and built the home.

The 21 hundred square foot house, which was unveiled Tuesday, is in Hilton. For the past three years the greater Rochester YMCA has held a gala event to auction off a home donated by the builder. West side YMCA Vice president Will Gallagher sees how the fundraiser helps the children.

"The best part is seeing the kids that get to benefit from it," says Gallagher. "You go out to our west side camp or our camp at north point and get to see the kids playing up there and having a great time swimming and climbing."

The home was auctioned off for a little more than $200,000. All of that money will go to benefit children and families of the West side YMCAs.
